Clink, clink, clink! Never miss conversions

Conquer e-commerce with Amazon and Facebook

Clink, clink, clink! Never miss conversions

One of the biggest challenges when entering online sales is to find synergies between platforms that allow comprehensive sales and positioning strategies. For example, Google Ads (formerly AdWords) is an excellent tool to search for potential customers in their final stages of the purchase process. The only problem is there isn’t a way to advertise on the platform without using your own domain.

However, if your online store is hosted on services like Amazon or Mercadolibre, your customer would have to double task: enter your website, then click to access the sales platform etc. Unfortunately, the more actions a user must perform to achieve their objective, the harder it is to achieve the desired conversion or sale….

But how can we create synergy between high consumption platforms with good reputation? The answer is locked in today’s two most valuable brands: Amazon and Facebook.

Amazon has an excellent customer service reputation, high standards in logistics, and if you wish, will take care of the entire storage, packaging and shipping process of your products … you will only have to worry about getting more sales and follow up on the after-sales service.

Facebook, on the other hand, is the only company capable of competing with Google’s advertising services. They also allow the in-site ads to take you to Amazon or any other online store. Every day Facebook provides more options for pages to push sales in a digital environment, integrating options directly in the pages and in its two most relevant services: Facebook and Instagram.

How much?

  • Amazon Monthly Subscription: $600 MXN
  • Percentage of the product depending on the category (for each sale)
  • Added logistics costs for storage, handling and shipping, which depends on the volume of the product and other factors that you can learn more in https://services.amazon.com.mx

How to integrate Facebook in my strategy?

  • Create a company page and fill in the information (obviously).
  • Activate the online store option and add the products you offer plus the costs and the link to the Amazon page where they can be purchased.
  • Generate a content strategy according to the segment of your products and target audience. Activating the online store on Facebook and publishing your products in it allows you to tag them in relevant posts so that people can always access the product from your newsfeed. Once this is done, you can complete the purchase directly at Amazon.

Regardless, you will have to consider an advertising budget.

Advertisements?

Amazon.com offers an ad option within the same page although it’s not available in Mexico yet. The platform offers some options to stand out amongst all the other products: Lightning Offers and Daily bargains, which you can access once the Amazon algorithm determines the eligibility of your product. You will receive a notification in your control center and you can choose to participate or not in this type of mechanics.

Unfortunately, Amazon.com.mx doesn’t yet have a specific launch date for its ad outline. The good news is that Facebook has a very robust advertising platform available in Mexico, which with a good strategy can find your target audience and achieve conversions, keeping the audience captive with a complete social strategy. These are the first steps to achieve your goal of selling online. There are other channels that allow you to reinforce and expand your presence, such as MailChimp for e-mail and content marketing.
