It's founders are noted Professors and international speakers, and recipientsof the prestigious Fulbright researchaward, one of the most distinguished research grant in the world. CWIS need to redevelop its long term communication and support strategy in the face of growing government cuts to “non-essential” research. CWIS has grown organically over its 20 year existence and several of its services were created in reaction to events.
Now that the Center has established a strong reputation as the authoritative voice for world indigenous affairs with strong links to the UN counsel on world indigenous rights, CWIS needed to rethink how it communicated both to its membership and the educational institutions that rely on their research. Mijo! Brands worked with the principal members of CWIS to redevelop the organizationÂ’s positioning and key messages and redesign the ID for their communication collateral and advertising. The website will be implemented by CWIS in house programming team based in Washington State.
The new ID eschews the stereotypical earth symbology while still referencing indigenous culture in the logo and graphic elements and strong use of photography of the site to create a site look and feel that is at once authentic and modern. The website will be launched in late Autumn 2010.
