Discover different ways to face the challenge of putting your product for sale online

Everything You Wanted to Know About an E-Commerce Website for Your Product (but Were Afraid to Ask)

Do you have a product or service that you’d love to indulge the rest of the world with its greatness…but don’t know where to start? Are you afraid of using existing platforms like Ebay and Amazon? Or are do you simply want to reach your customers in a more presentable or quirky fashion?

Do you want the personality of your product or service shown in an array of colors, buttons and images so the client knows that when they buy your product or service, they are purchasing the idea of a fun and witty person?

Well you’re in luck. I have all the answers to the questions you’ve been asking. You can thank me later with some free samples of your product or service.

First, we need to define how tech savvy you are. Have you ever written a line of code? We will approach this in two ways: don’t code and have coded before:

Don’t Code

If you have never actually written a line of code, and you already have more than enough on your plate to worry about rather than searching through hours and hours of video tutorials or articles on how to program…no worries. I can help you get your product or service out there.

There is one platform in particular that allows you to select a theme that fits your style, customize colors within that theme and adjust the flow of information by simply clicking on elements. I am of course talking about Shopify, in my opinion being the easiest way of selling on the internet with no actual knowledge of how to code.

They offer wide variations of how to sell your products. These range from creating your own site, adding a buy button to an existing website, integration with social media such as Facebook and Pinterest, and also being able to sell on those scary platforms like Amazon and Ebay.

If you think this is the platform for you, the first step is go to their website and inform yourself on what exactly it is they offer so you can see if it is the perfect fit for you and your product/service. I’ll take my free coupons now thanks. No? Fine…

Have Coded:

So you are a new generation Neo looking to dominate the internet with your product or service? No? Well you at least know how to code. To create your shop you will actually need a variety of existing concepts such as a server, domain and CMS. I know these concepts may seem scary but they really aren’t. I will try and explain these 3 concepts in the easiest and most painless way possible: the server will host your website, the domain will give your clients a web address to find your product/service, and the CMS (Content Management System) will allow you to fill up your website with all the wittiness and fun ideas you have to sell.

Now that we have that out of the way we can get to the good stuff. The only 3 things that are absolutely necessary are the three things stated above, but where you choose to acquire these services from is entirely up to you.

You may have heard of the all-powerful WordPress. In short, it is one of the most powerful CMS out there, offering a wide variety of plugins and themes that will help you create the website of your dreams, one of which is the plugin that we will be using to get your shop up and running: Woocommerce.

WooCommerce is a plugin/platform that offers a wide panel of options that will allow you give a detailed description of what your product is, does and offers. Ranging from the dimensions of your product/service to colors and variations. They also offer premade templates you can utilize for free depending on how you want your shop to look and feel. If there is something you want in particular on your website to better ensure the clients know everything about your product, you can be certain WooCommerce has it.

Hidden third option only for elite readers that got through the whole article:
