I am a Poet and I have my social network

The idea came up ten years ago when its creator from Madrid, Guillermo Spottorno, web developer, decided to blend his two great passions creating a website with information and communication dedicated exclusively to poetry.

Soypoeta.com offers the opportunity to connect the community of people and institutions related to the world of arts. Originally conceived as a cultural communication media, this network of verses has a couple of weeks since its creation and approximately 1,200 users. Anyone can create a profile, whether it’s personal or corporate, to share, criticize and comment on their poems, data, photos, videos, events, news and a whole lot more.

This social poetry network is targeting anyone who wants to share or being informed of poetry scene, not only from Spain but from all Latin America, potentially turning it into an international reference website.

This social poetry network has a section of information, interviews, programs, two blogs and several directories targeting writers, publishing houses, libraries, foundations, festivals or new publications and provides special attention to the multimedia world as well as the different channels owned by the Web 2.0.

Just like other social networks, Soypoeta.com has a system of instant messaging and a bar that lets other users know who is online to chat and share verses.

About the rights of the poets, Spottorno guarantees no intention of becoming the owner of the creations. The entire content is property of their authors.

This project is also supported by different entities like La Casa de America, The José Saramago Foundation or the Caja Madrid Foundation and by the poets Carlos Marzal and Juan Carlos Mestre.
