Vallarta CVB reaches out to English speaking business community

Continuing on the success of the Súbete al Tren social media conference at the Teatro Vallarta, which saw the participation of an estimated 650 local business and government leaders, the Conventions and Visitors Bureau of Puerto Vallarta (CVB), the Puerto Vallarta Chamber of Commerce (Canaco Servytur) and Mijo! Brands invite you to the first English-language edition of the campaign promoting the use of Web, Social Media and Social Networks amongst businesses in Puerto Vallarta to promote the destination.

The CVB is keen to engage with and tap into the experience of the English language community as it continues to roll out its social media program, recognizing their continued contribution to the cultural and economic development.  Súbete al Tren will be presented (in English) by Mijo! Brands and focus on identifying and analyzing different social media strategies available to those in the tourism sector. The interactive workshop will take place on Tuesday, November 8 at 6:00 pm at the Hotel Velas Vallarta. It is expected to last 2 hours.

Participants will be given the opportunity to promote their business on the official website by joining the services directory during the session.  The workshop´s format will include a presentation on defining brand strategy, emergent trends in the social web, measuring return on investment, and used the current Puerto Vallarta website and social strategy as a case study for discussion. Participants will be asked to share their own experiences and opinions in the social realm.

Súbete al Tren is an integral part of the CVB´s remit to promote Puerto Vallarta through its official website and supporting social media strategy. The CVB has invested an estimated $150,000 USD over 2 years in enhancing its online presence by collaborating with its main partner and financial supporter, the Fideicomiso (Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust). The Ongoing campaign invites local businesses, residents, visitors and students to join the official campaign to promote the city by participating in the workshops, and sharing their stories, photographs and videos on the official website or through one of the social media platforms detailed below.

The event is open to all Puerto Vallarta business owners and residents. Familiarity with social media is helpful but not necessary. Participants are invited to register online to secure a space due to limited availability. The event is free of charge, click here to register.
