Whenever we try to predict what the trends are in technology, it's taking a shot in the dark because you cannot predict for sure. Every day, companies find ways turn their proposals into the new must-have tech items. But looking at last year's numbers, we can make some educated guesses about what will be the major trends for 2015.
With this in mind, Mijo! Brands presents some of the major technology trends that will dominate in 2015:
• 2015 will be the year that Apple actually improves the resolution of all their tablets and desktops, perhaps even a 5K resolution level. This would help to further differentiate their products and make them more attractive. Also, we see strong pressure being made with IBM's offer on the company this year. In fact, the IBM/Apple alliance could be very detrimental to traditional PC vendors, including Microsoft.
• The tablet market has become so competitive and prices have become so low that almost all US households have at least one. Around the world, tablets have become major bestsellers, especially inexpensive models. This year will see a big push to position them as personal TVs. In China, for example, one of the major television stations is working on a chip that will allow tablets to be used as televisions for a monthly fee.
• This year will likely see the rise of a new category of devices that some experts have dubbed “domestic robots”. These robots are being developed to assist with rough tasks like cutting the grass, cleaning the house and/or assisting the elderly. It’s expected to see a lot of creativity around this concept in 2015.
