Mijo! Breaks Into the Movie Biz

In order to celebrate its 6th anniversary, Mijo! Brands, the marketing, advertising and brand strategy agency has recently developed a new APP focused on movie show times for Puerto Vallarta multiplexes.

Mijo! Brands got their feet wet in the world of mobile applications first in November 2011 with the development of the “Official Puerto Vallarta City Guide” which contained restaurants, hotel and bar listings, points of interest, city maps, an events calendar, fun facts and tips useful for both residents and visitors.

This was the spring pad for Mijo! Brands to begin promoting mobile application development that would cover other increasingly high needs and demands of consumers.

Miguel Carrillo, Web Developer at Mijo! Brands said “smartphones have become something that serves a much bigger purpose than just voice or text communication. They have become multi-use for various activities, including the movies.”

He added that “with the launch of the 'C!ne' app users will find the show times for movie theaters in Banderas Bay and up-to-the minute film updates all in one place.”

He stressed that this application will be free to download allowing users access to movie reviews, rankings and film trailers.

Meanwhile, Ramon Lopez, Director of Web Strategy at Mijo! Brands, commented that “the C!ne app is designed for both iOS and Android and although an internet connection is recommended to continuously update schedules, the application saves the data necessary to consult it offline.”

After a planning and strategy stage, the mobile app was created by web developers at Mijo! Brands over three weeks using a system that allows for simultaneous content upload for a better user experience while browsing.
