Mijo! Brands, the brand and web strategy consultancy, was retained todesign and translateHarvard Doctorate Leslie Korn´s Medicines of the Jungle Book. The Chap book – a 40 page publication in it´s second edition – details Korn´s 17 yearsspent operating an alternative health center in Yelapa and researching Indigenous medicines of the Jungles of Jalisco.
Her motivation was to transcribe the many natural medicines that are part of Jalisco and Mexico´s rich indigenous culture. The book, designed by Mijo! Brands Creative Director Fatima Mora and Translated into Spanish by Juan Pedro Delgado senior editor and communications professor at the Guadalajara campus at the Tech de Monterrey, is available at discerning book stores in Puerto Vallarta.
Full release is scheduled for Autumn which will seeKorn and Mijo! Brands host a limited number of events to promote the bilingual book. Dr Korn has generously earmarked several hundred books for local school libraries in themunicipalities of Puerto Vallarta and Cabos Corrientes. The originally designed book contains scientific details on the healing properties of local herbs and plants, anecdotes from Korn´s time in Yelapa,tid bits of information, and insights into family life in the once remote village.
